HOLLYWOOD - Picture Head (www.picturehead.com) recently built-out Sound 7, a new 5.1 mix room/soundstage. The project was guided by director of sound Mark Herscovitz, who called on consultant Charles Pell of Cobalt Blue Technology, along with Colin Ritchie of LA-based design house, Aarmadillo, to specify and facilitate the purchase of much of the room’s audio and video equipment.

24. TECHNICOLOR 3D NOW ON 250 SCREENS

HOLLYWOOD – Technicolor, which introduced its 35mm-based Technicolor 3D (www.technicolor3D.com) system just four months ago, has installed the solution on more than 250 screens across North America. Technicolor 3D launched in March with How to Train Your Dragon, and was followed with Clash of the Titans, Shrek Forever After, The Last Airbender, Despicable Me, and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. Piranha 3D will hit theaters on August 20.

The company is headed by composer/creative director Paul Robb and executive producer Birgit Roberts, who have teamed with music producer Jack Bradley on the expansion.
