DIGITAL TUTORS RELEASES 5 NEW INSTRUCTION TOOLS

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Digital-Tutors (www.digitaltutors.com) has released five new training courses: “Modeling Architectural Destruction in Maya,” “Advanced Compositing Workflows with Maya and Nuke,” “Getting Started with Toxik 2010,” “Architectural Detailing in ZBrush,” and “Advanced Backburner Job Submission."
(11/5/2009)
“Modeling Architectural Destruction in Maya” looks at isolating relevant geometry; removing large chunks of a building; manipulating the ceiling and floor interior; dressing the set with props and debris; dressing the window areas; breaking concrete; and detailing block and wood damage in ZBrush.

“Advanced Compositing Workflows with Maya and Nuke” shows users how to prepare Maya scenes and contribution maps for multi-pass rendering. The tutorial details how to combine passes into a single EXR file, as well as how to tweak and color correct various channels in Nuke.

“Getting Started with Toxik 2010” shows how to create compositions and import images. Those who view the video tutorial can also learn how to connect and disconnect tools in the schematic window, as well as get a better understanding of the node workflow.

“Architectural Detailing in ZBrush” shows users how to create a
seamless brick texture, apply seamless alphas using stencils, and add brick deformation and noise. The tutorial also shows how to build a window arch from primitive geometry, and how to sculpt and paint the window arch. Building the columns with projection master is also detailed, as is texturing ceiling tiles with noise and adding a knockdown texture.

And the “Advanced Backburner Job Submission” tutorial explains command line job submission; command line job and executable options; breaking CMD jobs into tasks; and custom task lists with CMD jobs. Also explained is how to render Softimage, After Effects, and Nuke projects with Backburner.
