SpongeBob, the pirate and fish featured in the open were created using a mixture of stop-motion, cardboard animation and puppetry.
The open was directed and produced by Mark Caballero, Chris Finnegan and Seamus Walsh
. Ralph Kaechele
served as director of photography. Animators included Sarah DeGaudemar, Musa Brooker and Kelly Mazurowski
