CUT + RUN FOCUSES ON FORD SPOT

LONDON – Cut + Run’s Leo King recently completed work on a Pan European spot for Ford that promotes its Focus model. The White & Orange spot was conceived by agency Ogilvy and was shot by director Vaughan Arnell and production company Serious Pictures on the streets if Lisbon, where the Focus is followed by a stream of light that accents its kinetic design.
(11/13/2009)
As the car makes its way through the city’s streets, the lights from a traffic signal and lamp post follow its course, creating artistic backgrounds that underscore the car’s beauty. In one shot, the lights form the silhouette of a photographer, who’s trying to capture the car’s beauty with his camera. In another, the lights create the curtains of a stage, framing the Focus as it exits through a tunnel.

The spot was shot over a course of four nights. The music of Morgan Van Dam serves as the score. King cut the project on an Avid. In addition to the :40 version, :30, :20, and :15 cuts were also created.

MPC handled effects for the project.
