The site’s open marketplace model allows anyone with professional quality stock audio or video to upload it and sell it. Currently, more than 2,000 individuals and companies are represented. Pond5 offers 50 percent royalties to artists and gives the artists the freedom to set prices themselves. Prices start at $2 for sound effects and $5 for music or video.
A number of sound libraries are on board for launch, including Blastwave FX, which offers more than 30,000 HD sound effects. Sonic Imagery Music is also offering hundreds of production music tracks on Pond5.
