The video is the second in a series related to procedural man made city elements. | | (12/29/2009) | | | The lecture — “SideFX Houdini - Procedural Road Creation Stage II : The Crash Barrier” — presents a variety of approaches and techniques for creating a crash barrier procedural system. A novel method is presented for cutting a spline up into several segments to be used later as crash barrier placement holders. Viewers will learn how to set relationships between shapes, how to group elements in preparation for UVs, and how to set relationships between the UVs and the texture.
The instructional video was created by Kim Goossens, a Belgian CG-artist who is working as a freelancer and CG-instructor. He is known for his creation of the “Girl,” later adopted by DAZ3D. He is currently teaching Houdini procedural modeling for games at the IGAD program at the NHTV University of Applied Sciences.
Pricing for the video is $49.95, and cmiVFX is offering a package price of $420.95 for 14 Houdini training videos, including “Procedural Road Creation.”
