OCEAN VISUAL FX LAUNCHES
 

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA - Visual effects and 3D animation studio Ocean Visual FX (www.oceanvisualfx.com) recently formed, offering design and production of effects and animation for feature films, broadcast and corporate marketing projects.

Robbie Robfogel serves as CEO and visual effects supervisor at the facility with LuzMary Robfogel acting as chief operations officer. The studio has also brought aboard 3D modeler/animator Brandon MacDougall and character animator Jeff Clifton.

Ocean Visual FX is outfitted with NewTek LightWave 3D software, Eyeon's Digital Fusion compositing package and Boxx Technologies 3D workstations and render-farms. The studio is also offers HD editing capabilities via an Avid system.

Robfogel is a 10-year veteran of the entertainment industry. He has been affiliated with Foundation Imaging, O-Entertainment, UFO Films, Transcontinuity Studios and Interweave Entertainment. His credits include work on Batman & Robin, Roughnecks: Starship Trooper Chronicles, Max Steel, Voyeur 2 and numerous music and corporate videos.

MacDougall is an Emmy award-winning modeler and animator. He won a team Emmy in 1998-99 for "Outstanding Special Effects for a Series' for Star Trek Voyager. He was also nominated for an Emmy in 2000-2001 for the same series.

An experienced expert with LightWave, Clifton was previously a character animator at Clear Crown Studio where he created animal characters for the PC game title Wild Life! Before that, Clifton was a 3D artist at Brainforest Digital Animatics where he helped create a pre-viz animatic for Betty Crocker Warm Delights.

Ocean has completed a Web and DVD 3D modeling and animation package for Champion Sidecars, a company specializing in the conversion of Harley Davidson and Honda Gold Wing motorcycles into classic three-wheelers and sidecars.
