3DTI AND FIT TO HOST 3D ANIMATION CAREER ADVANCEMENT SEMINAR

NEW YORK – 3D Training Institute (3DTI) and the Enterprise Center at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) are teaming up to host a free seminar for those pursuing a career in 3D animation. The event will take place on Friday, January 13th, 2006 from 6-9pm and will feature a panel of animation experts who will share their insight on how to advance a 3D animation career in today’s market.

(11/29/2005)

The scheduled slate of panelists is set to include Scott Sindorf, principal/executive creative director of design and production company UVPhactory in New York City; Lucien Harriot (pictured), CEO of Manhattan-based, Mechanism Digital, a digital production, animation and visual effects boutique; and Chryssa Cooke (formerly with Orphanage and PDI), who is an independent recruiter for animation companies. Additional panelists will also be added.

The event will take place on the FIT campus, in the John E. Reeves Great Hall located on Seventh Avenue at 28th Street. Attendance is open to animation students with demo reels looking for a career break in the animation industry.

The panel will cover topics that include: Growing Trends in the Animation Industry, Demand for Animators, The Hiring Process, and The Importance of Demo Reels. Three demo reels will be selected from submissions sent in advance for critiquing by the experts. The session will be followed by a Q&A. (For submission guidelines, visit the 3DTI Web-site at: www.3dtraining.com).

“We partner with 3DTI to offer 3D business and fashion applications to our students,” says Christine Helm, program manager at the Enterprise Center. “We are pleased to join them in offering this opportunity to students seeking a career in animation.”

3D Training Institute (www.3dtraining.com) offers specialized courses in animation application such as Autodesk 3DS Max and Alias Maya. The institute was set up by 3DMirage, a high-end 3D production and consultancy company specializing in new technologies in the field of 3D animation.
