ASCENT COMPLETES ALPHA BOOKS' 'IDIOT'S GUIDE' DVD

STAMFORD, CT - Publisher Alpha Books recently called on Ascent Media Group's Network Services (AMNS) and Media Management Services (AMMS) units to produce, direct and manufacture a DVD that will be included with its latest release, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Conversational Sign Language." Because sign language requires specific and precise hand movement, it was a challenge to capture all of the nuances on paper. It's here that the companion DVD will play an important role.
Ascent shot digital video footage for the DVD at its Stamford, CT location. The book's authors, Carole Lazorisak and her daughter Dawn Donohue, served as the signers.
Audio Plus Video International (an AMMS company) handled all of the DVD production needs, including video encoding, menu design and authoring. The business is also managing the replication of thousands of DVDs which will be included with the book when it ships in the first quarter of 2004. |
