ANIMATION HOUSE WILD BRAIN ENTERS INTO MULTI-FILM PARTNERSHIP WITH MIRAMAX/DIMENSION
September 30, 2004
SAN FRANCISCO - Animation production house Wild Brain (www.wildbrain.com) has entered into a multi-year, multi-film partnership with Miramax Films and Dimension Films to co-finance and co-produce computer-animated films. Under the agreement, Miramax/Dimension and Wild Brain will each finance 50 percent of the production on agreed projects. Miramax/Dimension will distribute the films worldwide in all media.

The agreement also gives Miramax/Dimension the opportunity to distribute Wild Brain's self-financed, direct-to-video productions over the next three years. Wild Brain, in return, has the opportunity to access Miramax/Dimension's worldwide distribution pipeline for films in which it produces and pays releasing costs.

The first joint production is expected to be Opus, which Craig Mazin, writer of Scary Movie 3, will adapt from the Pulitzer Prize-winning comic strip, "Bloom County," created by Berkeley Breathed.
