BIG MACHINE DESIGNS OPEN FOR UPN'S 'R U THE GIRL?'
August 9, 2005

HOLLYWOOD - Creative studio Big Machine Design (www.bigmachine.net) recently completed work on the show open for the UPN's new series "R U The Girl?". The studio also created the show's full graphics package, including in-show graphics, lower thirds, and transitions.

The series follows T-Boz and Chilli of the pop group TLC as they head out across the country to search for one girl to join them on the next stage of their careers. For nine weeks, the girls work closely with the diverse group of aspiring female performers to find the one with the right chemistry who might be the perfect fit.

The series is produced by The Jay and Tony Show in association with Fox Television Studios.

Big Machine Design's co-founder/creative director Ken Carlson says the studio "presented a variety of ideas for the network and production company to choose from. The looks ranged from full 3D character animation to a simple, flat color treatment with live action. In the end, we delivered a bright and cheery main title that focused attention on the talent."

BMD's co-founder Steve Petersen served as executive producer on the package, which was created using Adobe After Effects 6.5 and Maxon Cinema 4D R9 running on a Mac G5.
