August 16, 2005

Creative Domain sound mixer Steve Harrison at the newly-installed Digidesign D-Command console.

D-Command is the newest worksurface in the Digidesign ICON family of consoles and features extensive control and ICON-exclusive Pro Tools functionality within a compact work surface.

The D-Command main unit features a central control section with monitoring and communications controls, and includes eight channel faders, which are expandable up to 24 faders via a single 16-channel Fader Module. D-Command's ergonomic design enables control of multiple session parameters via the channel strips and provides LCD displays, LED rings, and bar-graph meters to facilitate important visual session feedback.

"The installation of Digidesign's new D-Command mixing console in combination with our Pro Tools|HD software creates a more collaborative work flow between our mix room and editorial bays," explains VP of production, Dan Korobkin. "The incredible versatility of the D-Command mixing console in regard to mapping and customizing faders and control parameters creates a much faster and more efficient work environment. This new equipment allows our audio mixers to dedicate more time and detail to the creative aspects of each of their mix sessions."
