DA VINCI BRINGS RESOLVE ON THE ROAD

NEW YORK - Coral Springs, FL-based da Vinci (www.davsys.com) is holding an open house to introduce its Resolve mastering suite for digital intermediates on Wednesday, July 21 at Manhattan-based Goldcrest Post Production from 6pm to 9pm. Well-known colorist John Dowdell III will be presenting an overview of the product's features as well as addressing DI workflows and procedures. For those that would like hands-on demos, da Vinci is taking appointments between the hours o 9am-5pm, July 19-21.

Resolve combines da Vinci's image enhancement technology and well-known interface with program-conforming tools designed specifically for the DI environment. This approach maximizes flexibility and speed while maintaining familiar da Vinci control panels. Resolve's open architecture allows users to browse and select image data from a LAN/SAN or local storage. After importing EDLs, Resolve conforms this material, adds in-context color enhancement, and produces a conformed master.

Acceleration with da Vinci's PowerPlant massive bit-processing programmable hardware allows realtime, multilayered color correction on full film-resolution images, not just proxies. Images of mixed resolution up to 4K and beyond are handled with internal processing of 64 bits for YRGB and controlled from the node-type display. Corrections can be cascaded or added in parallel in the unique da Vinci fashion, making Resolve the leading solution for the growing digital intermediate market.

Those interested in attending the Resolve demonstrations or the open house at Goldcrest Post should RSVP to Bob Caniglia at (856) 296-1824 or bobc@davsys.com.
