Most recently, Smyth was at Rock Paper Scissors, lending his talents to documentaries, music videos, short films and commercials. His latest projects include spots for HP, DirecTV, Stella Artois and Infiniti, as well as a music video for artist Trey Songz. He also worked on the six-minute film for VolksWagen/Arnold Worldwide titled "The Check Up," starring Joe Pantoliano and Kevin Connolly.

Smyth got his start as a runner at production company Ridley Scott & Associates (RSA) in London, where he spent seven years. He went on to become an in-house editor there.
