GROOVE ADDICTS CREATES MUSIC FOR 'DEAL OR NO DEAL'
December 21, 2005

Groove Addicts composers Tony Phillips, Brad Chiet and Dain Blair created the score with sound design by Robert Wear.

The Deal or No Deal track starts with an eerie, suspenseful intro while Howie Mandel is in a bank vault describing how much money is in 26 brief cases. He then starts to walk down a dark tunnel and the music builds. As he walks out into the audience from the tunnel, the theme kicks in, and he yells, “Deal or No Deal.” The theme continues to play as he walks to the stage and the show’s logo graphics come up on the screen.

"The theme is a combination of loops with the guitar and strings carrying the signature melody line," explains Groove Addicts’ creative director Dain Blair. "We went through a series of theme demos initially and then revisions to get to the final theme."
