JOHN ARNOLD HEADING UP 2G DIGITAL'S HD DVD EFFORTS
April 4, 2005
LOS ANGELES - John Arnold has joined HD online facility 2G Digital Post (www.2gdigital.com) as the company's director of new media, in charge of starting a new high definition DVD compression and authoring service. Arnold comes to 2G from Sunset Post, where he was responsible for all high definition and DVD projects, and was involved in early investigation of the transition from standard definition to high definition DVD technology.

Prior to Sunset, Arnold held marketing and technical positions at leading film restoration and preservation company Cinetech, managed a major film inventory project at MGM/UA, and held technical and project manager positions at International Video Conversions and BAM, Inc.

2G specializes in editing and mastering TV and airline versions of major movies for clients such as MGM/UA, Sony Pictures Entertainment and 20th Century Fox. The company also provides standard definition DVD compression/authoring primarily for screeners. 2G plans to target its high-definition DVD service to clients that send titles in for TV/airline editing and mastering, as well as making it available to clients who want to re-master their libraries in high-definition DVD. HD content expected to explode with the release of high-definition DVD players later this year.
