HOLLYWOOD - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented its "Best Sound Mixing" award to re-recording mixer Scott Millan of Todd-AO for his work on the feature "Ray."

Todd-AO is part of Ascent Media's Creative Sound Services Division. Its sister facility, Soundelux, provided sound editorial services for the film. Millan shares the win with Greg Orloff, Bob Beemer and Steve Cantamessa.

"Scott Millan is a gentleman, a talented artist and a consummate professional," says Lon Bender, president, Ascent Media Creative Sound Services. "We are also thrilled for director Taylor Hackford and film editor Paul Hirsch on the well-deserved recognition 'Ray' has received from the Academy, as well as numerous other organizations - and we are grateful to have been entrusted with the opportunity to work on this project."

Millan has been nominated for six Academy Awards, and this is his third win. He's received Oscars for his work on both "Gladiator" and "Apollo 13."
