SCOTT PERSSON JOINS MCHALE BARONE

NEW YORK - Recording engineer/mixer/sound designer Scott Persson has joined McHale Barone's (www.mcbone.com) commercial music/comedy radio production company. After cutting his creative chops as the drummer for Edge Park a rock band mentored by Peter Gabriel and recorded in London by Squeeze member Andy Metcalf and touring Europe opening for No Doubt and Radiohead, Persson discovered a stronger interest behind the mixing board than the drum kit.

After joining NY's Blast Digital in 1999, Persson's Pro Tools mixing credits soon included national TV and radio spots for Coca-Cola, America Online and Fisher Price as well as indie film scores. A talent for fast, creative mixing quickly earned him a 'can do' reputation. Moving on to the board at Headroom Digital Audio's Studio A in 2002, he continued racking up impressive credits. Most recently an engineer at Creative Bubble/Burst, Persson concentrated on mixing broadcast projects for Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central USA and Oxygen. A visit to the 10,000 sq. ft. McHale Barone/Irving's Place Studios, production complex however inspired a career move.

"Scott is an ideal addition to our creative team," McBone partners Joe Barone and Chris McHale said. "He's a genuine people person, with terrific technical skills. He's also got a great ear and a natural collaborative ability, we're delighted to welcome him aboard." "I like the idea of mixing radio as well as TV spots," Persson adds. "Working without pictures gives you an opportunity to stretch your creative chops. Irving's Place is one of the most beautiful and technically advanced studios I've ever seen. I had a great vibe the minute I walked off the elevator. It's a terrific way to start the New Year."
