THE MILL ADDS GRAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The AGR4 ME is a film grain and electronic noise reducer aimed at film, videotape restoration and MPEG pre-processing. The AGR4 ME's advanced motion processing and adaptive 3D filters, including a new Edge Preserving Spatio-Temporal filter and optional motion estimation, allow facilities to produce cleaner and sharper pictures from film- and video-originated material than ever before. The AGR4 ME can be used in a number of applications, from reducing the intensity of film grain while preserving its structure to wiping out noise on video material. Since its installation, The Mill has used its new system to prepare a major UK TV series. Colorist Seamus O'Kane says, "We used the DVNR to grain manage a 16mm telecine transfer for the series and we were very impressed with the results."
