XM SATELLITE'S 'TRUCE' BRINGS BASEBALL FANS TOGETHER

April 8, 2005
XM SATELLITE'S 'TRUCE' BRINGS BASEBALL FANS TOGETHER BOSTON ? Brickyard VFX (www.brickyardvfx.com) recently posted a spot for XM Satellite Radio that strings along a series of vignettes in which rival baseball fans recognize their common bond, listening to Major League Baseball games via satellite.

The "Truce" spot promotes XM MyFi, the world's first XM2go receiver, and the fact that XM is providing 24/7 live broadcasts of every Major League Baseball team this season. Mullen Advertising in Boston conceived the spot, which was produced by Epoch Films in Los Angeles.

In each scene, the fans begin to see their counterparts as OK once they notice them listening to a game on an XM2go personal receiver. The voiceover, "If there's one thing baseball fans can agree on, it's Major League Baseball on XM Satellite Radio" plays over War's familiar "Why Can't We Be Friends" track.

Brickyard VFX conformed the spots, and replaced all the XM2go screens so that viewers could clearly see the game match ups being broadcast, as well as the MLB logo. Brickyard VFX also handled color balancing and effects clean up, as well as beauty work across the campaign.

Phil Morrison directed the spot for Epoch Films. Steve Hamilton of Mad Mad Judy in New York City cut the project with Jeff Drury and Amy Khoshbin assisting. Victor Mulholland of Co. 3 in New York handled color correction and Soundtrack's Mike Secher mixed the sound.
