GTN ADDS SPIRIT 2K FOR HD AND CINEMA WORK
August 21, 2006

GTN ultimately plans to incorporate the system into a complete Digital Intermediate workflow.

“HD and data-based post production is no longer exceptional, it is increasingly standard practice for advertisers,” says GTN owner/CEO Doug Cheek. “This system helps us to keep pace with our clients’ current and future requirements for high quality repurposing of their content.”

The Spirit 2K facilitates the production of a 2K master, which can then be used to create all of the deliverable elements required by advertisers, including media for cinemas, broadcast and the Web.

“The quality is light years ahead of other telecines,” notes GTN colorist Adolfo Martinelli. “It allows us to create a greater variety of looks. The results are clearly evident even with standard definition media.”

Martinelli recently used the new Spirit 2K to post two recent campaigns: one for the Jeep Compass launch by Global Hue, and another for J. Walter Thompson and Ford featuring American Idol winner Taylor Hicks.
