NAB: NAGRA SHOWING HANDHELD DIGITAL AUDIO RECORDER
March 14, 2006

MPEG 1 Layer II compression allows for longer record times, and MP3 playback facilities allow Internet downloads to be played too.

The ARES-M is equipped with a built-in microphone and comes with an external clip-on stereo electret mic. Additional features include instant start up, one button recording and automatic level control.

An internal audio editor with a graphic waveform display allows users to remove unwanted audio from a file. Monitoring is made possible via a small speaker or through a headphone jack. A miniature USB port allows for connectivity to a PC or Mac with the internal memory appearing as an external drive. Two “AA” batteries can provide up to 10 hours of operation.
