OSCAR NOMINEES: SOUND EDITING

Supervising sound editor Wylie Stateman of Ascent Media's Soundelux division is nominated for Memoirs of a Geisha. This is Stateman's third nomination, having been recognized in the past for his work on Cliffhanger (1993) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989).

Richard King is nominated for his work on War of the Worlds. This marks his second nomination, having taken home the Oscar in 2003 for his work on Master And Commander.

And for King Kong, Mike Hopkins and Ethan Van der Ryn are nominated. It is the second nomination for both. In 2002, they also received Oscars for their work on The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
