He joined Pinnacle Systems upon its
acquisition of Montage Group, Ltd., where he previously served as installation
manager.
It was at Montage Group that Scher first worked with Solid
State Logic principal David Engelke, along with Jeff Stonier and Bala Iyer, now
serving on the MediaWAN team as VP of Broadcast Engineering and Chief Systems
Architect, respectively. The three later established Broadcast Devices LLC,
which was merged into SSL this year to drive the latter’s development of cutting-edge
video acquisition and storage solutions.
