The solution is able to manage and share large numbers of volumes within a project-based organization, and features full hardware RAID protection for all volumes.
According to Non-Linear Solutions owner/president Danny Friedman, who's worked on a number of Robert Zemeckis films dating back to Contact, the Alliance (www.archion.com) product was selected for both technical and economic reasons. "One of the things I like best about Archion is the RAID solution of backing up all of the storage without the need for total redundancy," says Friedman. "In other words, I don't have to purchase four terabytes for a two terabyte project. It's more cost-effective and helps me manage media more effectively. We've found that our down time has been practically eliminated and that makes me happy."
