"The productions we are working on have been getting larger,
so we needed something that can help us accommodate increasing requirements,"
Baksht explains. He was recently nominated for a British Academy of Film and
Television Arts (BAFTA) Award for his work on the feature Pan's Labyrinth, Guillermo del Toro's gothic fairy tale.
Baksht is a longtime SSL user, having worked on the console
manufacturer's 8000 G Series, Avant, and Avant Plus in the past. The new C300
meets his needs for comprehensive inputs and DAW control.
Prior to taking delivery, Baksht spent three days at SSL's
Oxford, UK, headquarters with Ron Lagerlof of Visioneering Design, the design
and integration firm commissioned for Astro Studios, to finalize the console's specifications.
