The seminar was moderated by ASCAP's executive VP of
membership Todd Brabec and took place at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of
Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. In addition to Beckerman, the panel
included Pulitzer prize winner Melinda Wagner; singer-songwriter Jonatha
Brooke, who has appeared on both The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien; Henry Krieger a 2007 Academy Award nominee for
creating Dreamgirls' music; and
Ryan Leslie, a music producer/singer who works with hip-hop superstar Cassie.
Beckerman collaborated with film composer John William on
new music for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and Meet The Press, and with Sting on the CBS Morning News. He also collaborated with James Horner on The
CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.
