CUT + RUN EDITS ON LOCATION

The Tesco Milk commercial was created in a single weekend and features the two on an idyllic country camping trip.

In an effort to prove he is a competent outdoorsman, Clunes sets off, pail in hand, to find a cow to milk for a refreshing breakfast beverage. He then opts for an easier alternative – fresh Local Choice milk from regional farms via Tesco. He returns, triumphant, stating, “You can’t beat milk straight from a Cornish cow!” “Delicious,” Ripley agrees. “Especially how it comes out so delightfully chilled.”

The Cut + Run team (www.cutandrun.tv) linked a MiniDV clamshell unit directly to the 35mm camera, capturing footage and imported it into an Avid laptop to create a rough edit. Notes were taken based on the slate order to compensate for the lack of timecode for telecine. They later went back to the Avid with the graded film rushes to produce timecode for the finish, which was delivered for a national launch the following Saturday.
