'EDITORS RETREAT 2008' TO TAKE PLACE IN MEXICO

The event will be limited to approximately 75 qualified editors with at least five years of professional experience. Applications will be reviewed by a peer committee.

The Editors Retreat will feature more than 30 workshops, instructional classes, discussions and networking events. Presentation will range from HD and 24p workflows, to "Smokin' Photoshop Secrets" and "Color correction as a storytelling tool." Other topics slated for discussion include "Your Professional Future: What To Do in The Next Year to Stay Ahead," and "Battle Scars: War Tales From the Edit Room."

Featured presenters will include award-winning editors and icons who share their techniques and attend sessions and networking events alongside their peer attendees. Signed keynote speakers include Sally Menke, the Oscar-nominated editor of Pulp Fiction, the Kill Bill series, and other films of director Quentin Tarantino; and David Helfand, the Emmy-nominated editor of Weeds, Friends, That 70s Show, and other TV series.

Post's Ken McGorry will serve as keynote moderator. Representatives from Avid, Apple and Adobe will also be on hand to provide attendees with insight into the focus and direction of the future of their editing product lines.

In addition to technical and hands-on sessions, the Retreat will include daily peer reel critiques and peer presentations to enable editors to compare notes and approaches. There are also a number of structured social events planned, and free time has been set aside solely for networking.

The event will take place at the Crown Paradise Club Resort and Spa. Further details can be obtained by visiting the Website (www.EditorsRetreat.com).
