EDITWORKS UPGRADES WITH SSL C300 CONSOLE

The new console replaces an SSL Aysis, which, mixer Adrian Smith says, provided "eight years of very reliable service - it never crashed once."

As for the decision to go with the new C300, Smith says the purchase came after a number of demonstrations. "Some of the projects we work on require a very fast turnaround, so we had to hit the ground running," he notes. "After a very easy install, the C300 took over where the Aysis left off."

One feature that he is impressed with is the controller layer, which allows him to control a workstation's mixer, plug-ins and editing functions. "The C300 has enabled us to take on extra 5.1 work and makes that transition easier. It is a beautifully-made desk, sounds fantastic and with V.2 software, it is the console for the next generation of TV sound post production."
