FOX BUSINESS NETWORK GETS AUDIO IDENTITY

To resonate with the new channel’s target audience, the music needed to be contemporary and upbeat, while maintaining key business sensibilities. The Stephen Arnold Music team incorporated a live, indie band style with a blend of electric guitars, live bass and drums. The resulting signature was built around arrangements for key FBN day parts, including AM, Daytime, Happy Hour and Evening. It also can be used for more serious news.

“This was a fun, but challenging project as we had to deliver many elements literally days before the launch,” notes Arnold. "We also had to create a real balance, with music edgy enough to resonate with a younger demo while not alienating older viewers.”

Arnold wrote and programmed the themes in his Santa Fe studio. Once the animation and graphics were finished, he then scored the music to picture, and the final live instrument recording was completed at Stephen Arnold Music’s Dallas headquarters. The project was produced by creative directors Chad Cook and Clay Lorance, and recorded and mixed by sound engineer Paul West, with post production and sound design by producer Jesus Garcia.
