The Engineering Awards include products or processes, but
most importantly must represent a step forward for its industry beneficiaries.
The product or process must be available to post production industry peers, so
internal proprietary workflows and processes are not eligible. The submission
must be available on the market before the submission deadline. They can
consist of hardware, software, a combination of both and/or a technological
development or post production process.
The Second Annual HPA Awards will take place on November 1st at the
Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. In addition to the Engineering
Excellence Award, the HPA Awards will honor outstanding work in the following
categories: color grading using a DI process for a feature film, color grading
for a television program, color grading for a commercial, editing for a feature
film, editing for a television program, editing for a commercial, audio post
production for a television program, audio post production for a commercial,
compositing for a feature film, compositing for a television program, and
compositing for a commercial.
