PONTIAC SPOTS TAKE GRAPHIC NOVEL APPROACH

Miami's Accent Marketing conceived the spots, which were produced and designed by Imaginary Forces. IF shot the live action and created the CG environments. With A Twist Studio handled dynamic animation and lighting of the photoreal CG Pontiac G6 convertible.

In the other spot, Lights, a woman in a skin-tight yellow dress strolls through a bar, waiting impatiently for the arrival of a yellow Pontiac. Both commercials refer viewers to the Pontiac Website: www.pontiac.com/sexy.

Imaginary Forces shot the actors against greenscreen and composited their desaturated images into the CG environments. With A Twist created the two Pontiac vehicles.

According to With A Twist CG supervisor Brandon Bartlett, IF provided the studio with the background animation and then they placed vehicles into the scenes. "Our job was to make the vehicles look real and perform, almost like characters," Bartlett explains.

With A Twist Studio credits include VFX super David Burton; executive producer Pam Hammarlund; CG producer Kelly Brittingham; CG lead artist James Kells; CG artists Matt Nowacki, Frank Synowicz, Ryan Romans  and Paul LaFond; scene integrator Matt Hammarlund; and matte painter Chris Bloyer.

The studio used 3DS Max, Maya, Combustion, Photoshop and V-Ray on the project.
