SUPER BOWL: BOMBASTIC HELPS VH1 OPEN PEPSI BASH

The boutique worked with VH1 on the last year's 2006 Super Bowl Bash, and was challenged with building on the visual identity the team had already established. The goal was to fuse the three mega brands - Pepsi, VH1 and the NFL - over a backdrop of Miami and to deliver creative that would work both on-air and in printed materials. The team ultimately produced a show package that integrated each of the brands.

The package was created from 2D and 3D elements, along with shot footage. The show's open begins with an amp cord emerging from the coastline and traveling through a CG backdrop of Miami, past sunbathers and a convertible traveling on the freeway. The cord makes its way through the center of the Atlantis building and into Dolphin Stadium, continuing its journey along seats that that have been transformed into moving piano keys. The cord then plugs into the PA, where an announcer can be heard introducing the special event.

The Bombastic team created a hybrid version of Miami around the outline of a guitar.  The team used Adobe Photoshop and then added depth with Autodesk Maya 3D software.  The Mental Ray renderer was used to achieve atmospheric effects, the large 3D model of Miami, and the detailed textures in the design.
