Since beginning his career in 1994, McKenna has worked in commercials, music videos and feature films. He worked with Sydney-based visual effects and design company GMD, contributing to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Later, while with Radium, he worked on music videos for Ludacris, Janet Jackson, Liz Phair, and Missy Elliott.
His career also includes time with Sydney's Animal Logic. McKenna joined Moving Pixels in 2006.
