ABSOLUTE TAKES MERCEDES OFF-ROAD & ONLINE

The vehicle was created from CAD data supplied by the manufacturer and was rigged to achieve all the possible movements of the real car. The limits of the real car were found during a reference shoot at Mercedes-Benz World on their off-road track.

Five different locations needed to seamlessly join together so online visitors could decide the order in which they appear. The key to pulling off the timeline concept was to create a generic start and end point for each sequence so that the sections could be smoothly looped.

The project involved generating and rendering many different elements, all of which were rendered separately. The entire project required seven weeks of work. Animation was created using Autodesk Maya. Compositing was handled using Flame.

Sean Feeney and Chris Allen were VFX producers on the project. Richard Nelson, Minh Nguyen-Ba, Maria Ocontas, Matt Burn, Toby Walton and Jamie White all contributed to the 3D.
