ACID PRO 7 EVOLVES INTO TRUE DAW

The new version is Microsoft Vista compatible and features a new mixing environment, MIDI track freeze, tempo curves, improved Beatmapping, and additional import/export options.

Sony Creative Software's self-produced, built-in tutorials are designed to help new users get up to speed quickly. A new audio and MIDI mixing console offers additional routing options and provides a more efficient in-studio recording environment. MIDI Track Freeze allows users to freeze MIDI tracks that use multiple soft synths and render them as a .WAV file, which can then be streamed and played back as an audio file, freeing up the CPU.

Realtime rendering allows users to incorporate live input from external sources, such as an instrument, microphone or MIDI controller device. Expanded input buss options also simplify recording from external devices.

Zplane's Elastique Pro helps users dramatically stretch or pitch shift tracks without leaving artifacts. And the Enhanced Beatmapping feature allows users to better combine songs with varying tempos and time signatures.

Format support has been expanded to include the import and export of FLAC, AAC, AC-3 Studio, and MPEG-2 formats. In addition, Acid Pro 7 comes with a software bundle valued at $500. The bundle includes the Acid Pro Effects Rack powered by iZotope, Submersible Music's KitCore and Native Instruments' Guitar Combos. Over 3,000 music loops and 1,000 MIDI files are also included. Pricing is $399.95.
