APM DEAL BRINGS 'DISCOVERY' TRACKS TO OUTSIDE PRODUCERS

Adam Taylor, president of APM, feels that Discovery's tracks lend themselves well to reality, documentary and narrative programs, and can enhance these types of visual stories. Discovery Studios Tracks launches as a five-CD set, with each CD containing 42 cues. The theme of the library is "Listen to Our World" and represents the wide variety of styles and genres that make up the world of Discovery.

APM's music director, Edwina Travis-Chin, hand picked each track from various Discovery Networks shows and categorized them in a way that would be most useful to a broad list of clients.

"I looked at the cues on their own merits, apart from their identity with a specific program, and explored how the music might work in a variety of situations," Travis-Chin explains. "I wanted to select tracks that would be useful over a wide range of applications, and could accompany visual images in ways other than how they were originally used."
