ASCENT NAMES CARTER DIRECTOR OF NONLINEAR WORKFLOW

Carter began his career in audio post with Margarita Mix, Hollywood. He moved into video production via the VFX house CFC. In 2005 he joined Company 3 and performed editorial work on more than a dozen films, including The Island, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, 300, Blades of Glory and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. His most recent credit was Rush Hour 3. His background also includes a position with Santa Monica editorial house, Brass Knuckles, where he served as an online editor and digital technology specialist, and a similar position with editorial house Cosmo Street.

His new role will involve assisting in the design and implementation of post production workflows with a goal of maximizing efficiency, extending creative functionality and improving client service. He will also provide assessment and advice regarding emerging technologies and production methodologies.

Recently, Carter worked with Riot in designing a post workflow for Game, a Lakeshore Entertainment film shot with the new Red One digital cinema camera.
