AUDIOENGINE PUTS 5.1 CAPABILITIES TO WORK FOR GATORADE

Mandelbaum’s studio has been outfitted with Genelec 1037 stereo and 8040A surround monitors. A wrap-around production desk allowing clients to experience mixes from an optimal position. The studio also offers client workspace as well as a voiceover booth.

For the Gatorade project, Mandelbaum worked with producer Tom Cronin and the Element 79 Partners agency in Chicago, as well as with editor Alex Hagon of Final Cut in New York City.

One of the spots, Jeter Footsteps, features Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter promoting Gatorade’s new low-calorie G2 line. The spot aired during the Super Bowl. More recently Mandelbaum has mixed spots for JC Penny (American Living) and L'Oréal, both of which aired during the Academy Awards broadcast.

In related news, AudioEngine mixers Tom Goldblatt and Rex Recker have also been busy, each mixing two Web spots for Jawbone (www.jawbone.com). The spots are part of Anomaly’s viral video campaign for the Jawbone Bluetooth headset.
