DEADLINE FOR 'SONOPEDIA SOUND DESIGN COMPETITION' APPROACHES

After registering for the contest, participants can download 40 free sound effects from the Sonopedia sound effects library. They then have until November 14th to create and submit a :30 sound design narrative using those sound elements.

A panel of Academy Award-winning sound designers - including Randy Thom, Lon Bender, and Richard King - will judge the competition and select a winner, who will be announced in the December issue of Post.  The winner will receive Sonopedia, a 20,000 HD sound effect collection valued at $4,000.

Sonopedia comes on a 250GB Glyph hard drive and provides royalty-free HD sound effects that range from alligators to zippers. Sound elements are cataloged with rich embedded metadata for quick, intelligent searching, and are compatible with Pro Tools, Soundminer, NetMix, iTunes, and other popular sound library search engines. All sound effects are descriptively named and intuitively categorized for easy browsing.

Head to the Post site to register.
