MATTE PAINTER KENNETH NAKADA JOINS FRANTIC FILMS

There, he oversaw the company’s digital environment team. At Frantic Films he will spearhead the company’s new digital mattes & concepts division.

Currently, Nakada is painting environments for City of Ember. He also recently provided design for Frank Miller's The Spirit, as well as paintings for CIS Hollywood for The Express, Leatherheads, and Starship Dave.

Prior to his time at LookFX, Nakada spent five years at Riot, first as a senior matte painter, then as a VFX supervisor, and eventually as the company’s director of visual effects.  His work there included contributions to Terminator 3, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, The Scorpion King and many other film, television, commercial and music video projects. 

He has also freelanced, creating matte paintings for studios such as Industrial Light & Magic, Stan Winston Digital, ESC Entertainment, Cinesite and Captive Audience.
