MAXON USERS NOMINATED FOR VES AWARDS
Artists at these facilities called on Maxon’s Cinema 4D and BodyPaint
3D to bring characters, backgrounds and environments to life in these
effects heavy feature films.
For Spider-Man 3, Sony
Pictures Imageworks used Cinema 4D and BodyPaint 3D to create realistic
digital environments and repaint sky elements in numerous scenes,
including the storm in the bell-tower sequence and the richly colored
sunrise featured at the culmination of the climactic battle sequence.
For Surf’s Up, Matte painters
at Imageworks also worked with the tools to create lush, large-scale
environments and textures. These included the island, where the big
surfing competition takes place.
And for the film Beowulf, a
team of 12 matte painters handled the creation of almost all the
external environments, representing approximately 350 shots.
The Visual Effects Society will host its award program on February 10th at the Kodak Theatre Grand Ballroom in Hollywood.
