XDCAM EX SUPPORT ADDED TO LIGHTWORKS EDITORS, GEEVS SERVERS
Geevs and Lightworks have always supported the XDCAM file format. The EX version offers full 1920x1080 resolution throughout the production chain, starting from the imaging chip in the camera. The Solid State memory used (PCMCIA ExpressCard34 technology) also improves operation in the field and speeds up file transfers. Material from XDCAM EX can be freely mixed with other material for editing on Lightworks or playout on Geevs servers.
"It was a natural extension to our family of products to add the XDCAM EX support," notes Keith Gee. "We have seen substantial interest in this format since its introduction and already have several customers using it in production. The improvement in quality over the original XDCAM format has clearly been appreciated by our customers. We expect to see significant growth in this area during 2008 because of the advantages of the tapeless operation and great picture quality."
