ANIMAL PLANET SPOT SHOT ON RED

The piece was shot on location in Florida using a Red camera. It features footage of a dog, cat, alligator and flock of birds, all of who express their appreciation in their own unique way. The dog and cat use paw prints to spell out the word "Thanks." An alligator uses his tail to write a message in the sand. And the birds come together to create a message in the sky.

Wee Beastie's Chris McKenna was creative director on the project, which was shot in 4K at 29.97 at Hollywood Beach. Slow motion of the birds was shot at 60fps/3k and 120fps/2K. Redcode footage was loaded into a Scratch system for color correction by Gary Scarpulla in New York. The footage was then transcoded to Apple Pro Res files for editing in Final Cut.

Intel-based PowerMacs running After Effects CS3 and Photoshop CS3 were used for graphics and compositing.

Sarah Shipley directed the project and Marc Blandori served as DP. Rob Bischoff handled graphics and compositing. Chuck Avery was producer.
