AZCAR ACQUIRES CONTROLLING INTEREST IN MATCHFRAME VIDEO

Matchframe is a full-service, HD facility offering workflows and finishing solutions for projects shot on film, data, Red, HD and standard definition. The company’s services include Avid and Final Cut Pro rentals, online, audio, telecine, visual effects and graphics, file-based technologies (encoding, transcoding and file management), and digital restoration, as well as DVD and Blu-ray mastering and all duplication.

Azcar Technologies is an independent technology integration company that provides the broadcast and communications industries with value-driven solutions, consulting, engineering, systems design, integration, project management and the supply of related materials and equipment.

Through the acquisition, Matchframe gains access to Azcar’s engineering, workflow management, consulting and system design services. Azcar will be able to provide a complete range of content management services, such as library management, content manufacturing and repurposing, and disaster recovery to its global client base, as well as transport and delivery services. This will allow Matchframe to expand into new markets.

“It is our intent to quickly build Matchframe Video into a center of excellence for creation and distribution of all forms of media,” says Gavin Schutz, president and COO of Azcar Technologies. “We intend to provide these services to mid-level or smaller clients who currently are not able to be serviced by the large, ‘factory based’ post production facilities. By having access to Azcar’s deep technical resources, Matchframe will be able to provide very sophisticated media services optimized to our client’s specific needs.”

Marvin Rich, who will continue in his role as CEO of Matchframe says, “We are now owned by an engineering company, and Azcar specializes in building high-tech, high-end facilities. As a result, Matchframe is going to become a state-of-the-art facility.”
