FULL SAIL STUDENTS CREATE GRAPHICS FOR ORLANDO MAGIC
May 14, 2009
Two teams of students were selected for their work, which was unveiled recently during the NBA playoffs at the Magic's Amway Arena.

The Magic accepted proposals from Full Sail's digital arts & design, computer animation, graphic design, and entertainment business programs. Students were challenged with creating graphics for offensive and defensive situations, as well as general noise prompts that would play on the arena's Jumbotron screens.

The winning teams were comprised of six students: Dustin Bankord, Juan Colon, Tyler Joynt, Ron Monahan, Jose Ramirez and Jared Sanders.

Autodesk Maya, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop were used to create the graphics package. Pete Bandstra, program director of computer animation and game art sees the contest as a success, as students now how significant professional credits in their portfolios, even before graduation.
