GENARTS GROWS THROUGH SPEEDSIX ACQUISITION
SpeedSix's (www.speedsix.com) Monsters and Raptors have been used throughout the film and video industry, and are available as plug-ins for Avid, Autodesk, Assimilate Eyeon and Quantel systems. GenArts makes tools for Autodesk, Avid, Adobe and Apple systems, and CEO Katherine Hays says the company will work to port the newly-acquired products over to systems they are not currently available on.
SpeedSix employees will join the GenArts team and will remain in the UK. The acquisition is part of GenArts' aggressive growth strategy. Hays hopes to build the company via acquisitions and strategic partnerships. GenArts will be exhibiting at the upcoming NAB show in April, and is also planning on investing in its Web presence.
