JOSH SELIG, DAVID SILVERMAN TO KEYNOTE TELEVISION ANIMATION CONFERENCE

The conference’s keynote speakers were recently announced and will include David Silverman, best known for directing numerous episodes of The Simpsons, as well as The Simpsons Movie, and Josh Selig, founder/president of Little Airplane Productions, producer of The Wonder Pets! children’s series.

Selig will open the conference. His career started at Sesame Street, first as talent, and later as a writer and producer. He won ten Emmy awards as a member of the writing team for Sesame Street, and in 1999, founded Little Airplane Productions. There, his team produces The Wonder Pets!; Oobi!; Go, Baby!; and 3rd & Bird.

Silverman will kick off the second day of the conference. He started out directing shorts for the Tracy Ullman Show, which eventually led to directing the first episodes when it became a series. Much of  his career has revolved around The Simpsons, for which he is largely credited with creating the rules for drawing the show. He became producer and supervising animation director for the series, directing 22 episodes and winning four Emmys. Other directing credits include the The Simpsons Movie, DreamWorks’ The Road to El Dorado, and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.
