NYC'S MAYOR'S OFFICE HOSTS 'POST CAREER' PANELS

The Monday panel will focus on editing and color correction, while the Tuesday panel will look at sound design. Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, will moderate the discussions.

The Editing panel is slated to include Mike Jackman, VP/GM of Deluxe New York and former post supervisor for Gangs of New York, The Aviator, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; editor Thomas Ostuni of Chinagraph NYC; assistant editor Jackie Tejada of Cadillac Records; and Nice Shoes colorist Lenny Mastandrea.

The Sound Design panel will feature Tom Fleishman, sound re-recording mixer for Brooklyn's Finest and The Devil Wears Prada; Ron Bochar, supervising sound editor on Doubt and You've Got Mail; and sound designer Winston Philip.

Oliver says New York City's production industry employing 100,000 and generating $5 billion to the economy each year.  "Our office is committed to attracting new production business and creating new jobs through the 'Made in NY' program. At the same time, we are working to ensure that a diverse group of New Yorkers have access to these positions through programs such as this panel and our 'Made in NY' Production Assistant Training Program - a series of free, full-time, month-long training programs developed with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations. We've also launched a new PSA campaign thanking New Yorkers for hosting production throughout the five boroughs."

The panels begin at 7:00 pm each night. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Deluxe New York is located at 435 Hudson Street, 9th Floor. RSVP via email to: Message@film.nyc.gov.
